Dommers? Well not to be confused with DOMEers, it pronounced DOM-MERS. An dits just a nick name a friend gave me 12 years ago that stuck. She was giving us all serial killers names. There was Wayne who was Gacy, Theodre who was called Ted, her name was Karla so she named herself Homolka and then ther was me. My name is Dominique and everyone called me Dom. So yeah Jeferey Dommers.... Could never shake that name

I read a lot ( or did until DQ came along) and being kind of a smart Alec, I like to make silly/goofy versions of titles and names. I was feeling grumpy and frumpy as I am prone to do, while reading an Agatha Christie novel, et voila! Hagatha Crusty was born.

I have been called Corky since before I was born. Just a nickname. My given name is Courtney (my mother's maiden name). I didn't know it was a double gender name until I was in my 30's at that point there were very few of us around. Now it's mostly girls but there are a few of we male Courtney's out there too.
The 3240 is a designation for a black powder target cartridge used around the turn of the1900's. Used because there are more Corky's out there than you might think.
I recently changed my avatar to a more male specific image. No sense causing more confusion with the "Wicked" image. It was just one of my better drawings.

I meant to compliment you on that wicked drawing, corky. Did you read the books? Good stuff.

My wife is the real fan of the books. I was just taken by the artwork. I have seen the play and did enjoy that.
Having grown up with the Wizard of Oz it's nice to fill in the back story. We liked the latest movie, Oz The Great and Powerful.
I do have a very complete flying monkey costume.

Well it wasn't always my username. For a long time I used a different name, but then got a really creepy stalker who, based on my username that I used on everything figured out where I was then moved to my city and began actually stalking me.
Needless to say, I changed it right away and took down every social networking account I had on the net so I wouldn't be found.
But I thought of this because Imogen Heap is my favorite musician and so I took the heap from there and the 241 was my husbands old security tag number. Wile we were still dating, we would use it as somewhat of a call sign to know when then other was around, (we were a few states apart when we were dating) so heap241 so it's always a calling card to my husband and I have brought along my favorite artist!

Neferzi = I'm a big fan of History and Art, so I choose a name from ancient Egypt: "Nefer". To personalize this name I add " Zi" from zigurate, an ancient temple/palace from the Sumerian civilization.

I am DQLurker. Well, I lurk. Hahaha!! I was actually a friend of BlackRose from the online game SecondLife. I followed her here when she stopped logging into SL. However, I don't always draw. I lurk and browse the gallery and admire everyone's work. I always forget to draw after browsing the galleries. I have drawn some quests and I say that this community is full of pleasant and encouraging people.

One of my coworkers jokingly called me Mean Geri because she thought I was being mean or sarcastic about something. I tend to say what I'm thinking and am not always the most sympathetic person so sometimes I'm a little blunt. It became a joke between us and was all in good fun, but it stuck and now most of the office calls me that if I say something blunt. Now it's my screen name for most everything.

My screen name has been following me for 15 years or more. I think I first used it as an AOL screen name back in the dark ages. I went through a series of names that were an obscure animal paired with a random letter. Then on a forum one day I made some friends who started identifying me with EchidnaQ and it stuck. Been using it ever since. I use my AOL screen name for anything I don't use MeanGeri for. I'm glad to see I'm not the lone dinosaur out there using an AOL screen name still. (Not that I'm calling anyone old by the use of dinosaur, it's just a turn of phrase.)

My name is Andrew Schawl. I woulda have used one of my other, more creative online usernames (ie Red Eyed Robot, my name when creating music via YouTube) but I logged in via Facebook, waited too long to change it, and now feel that too many DQers know me...as me. Is it too late to transform into Red Eyed Robot? It's never too late to change. Perhaps do a "drawing" stating that you are changing it and it will appear in your followers feeds. Also, for the first week or so you can sign your drawings "Red Eyed Robot, formerly AndrewSchawl". I changed mine after several months but it still has my first name in it so I figured it wasn't a big issue, besides I dint change my profile pic for a while and I think people notice those before the names.

I've been using the username rubahduk for awhile, and I honestly don't know how I came up with it... I just thought I was cool when I was little by taking rubber duck and changing it to rubahduk... I was a weird child... I have over 80 rubber ducks in my bathroom. Needless to say, I love your screen name.

Raymond is the name of our much loved Occicat who died earlier this year due to a weak heart. He was very popular on Facebook amongst other eccentric pedigree cats. When I discovered DQ I decided to use his account for my first log in. It is also a way to keep his wild spirit and memory alive. The sagbagg bit has two origins. Firstly, I was making a short film with some teenagers about a ghost story based in north Norfolk. It features a headless smuggler's ghost who roams the village of happisburgh at night. His head dangles from his neck by a few sinews after he was partially beheaded. When the local drunks first saw him, they thought he was carrying a sack on his back and shouted "look there's a man with a sack on his back....sagbagg sagbagg! Raymond developed a similar sagbagg belly and so that became his nickname.

Hello, it is very interesting to know where all the usernames come from! Thank you all for sharing and thanks to Meangeri for pointing me to this section!. As for me, my name tag comes from a French B.D. (cartoon book) "The quest for the time bird?" -La quĂȘte de l'oiseau du temps. One book is called "L'ami Javin" which translates into "The friend Javin". I liked the 2 "a" and the sound of the contracted name so I just removed the apostrophe. That got me a unique tag. Also uses this as my ID on deviantart and Flickr. That's it. B.D.: www.bedetheque.com/serie-5-BD-Quete-de-l-oiseau-du-temps.html

Mine is a derivation of the nick I have been using in the interwebs since 1991: Soundchazer. Over the years I have come to realize the nick is too freaking long. That in itself is a derivation of a prog song by the group Yes, which I like: Sound chaser. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yar10vUjcc

Summer ( a childhood nickname) and Bryz (breeze for the nickname song that was sung to me) You know...summer breeze makes me feel fine...running through the jasmine in my mind... Something like that. lol I'm glad you told this story, because: my husband's name is Bryant but I call him Bry... And when we're being funny, Brys (or Bryz). So I have to admit that every time I saw your screen name I was saying, "summer Bryz"? Which was kind of sweet cause it reminded me of my hubby but kind of nagging since I was pretty sure that WASN'T what it meant or how you meant it to be pronounced lol. So now I can retrain myself to read "summer breeze" As for me I also did a drawing which hopefully explains the origin of my screen name The owl is sort of my totem, I have several tattoos of them. There's also a long origin story but I won't go into that!... My real name is Piper, which you almost never see...so naturally I have seen two others on DQ!
