Please post examples from any quester where the picture has been executed in shades of grey. I think being able to see lots of examples will teach us (me!) a lot. oh and don't forget to credit the artist even if their name is visible on the image.

This spilt nail varnish is by the awesome, multi-talented DrCupcake. I think the effect is far more dramatic in greyscale, makes it look like a news image. If it had been in colour it might have looked like a promo shot - good, but a bit ordinary perhaps. Like this it makes you look. Attachments:

This one is by afriend99. OK there's a tiny bit of colour but I think we can allow that for effect. I really admire the skill and patience applied to each separate raindrop. It would have been easy to become formulaic and repetitive but afriend has treated each mark with respect. Love it! Attachments:

More black & white then grayscale but very nice work. Again just a hint of color. I would be happy to have a print of this. Artist Dayvii on DQ. His What a View quest has more grayscale features. Nice examples of pen and ink using DQ tools. Attachments:

Very powerful yet restrained use of greyscale by MrChris49. This picture evokes a very strong, visceral response. Attachments:

I guess I wanted to have a warmer light source. I admire your drawings too. They are really beautiful with the soft colors applied to your drawing. I hope to learn your skills from your drawing and I enjoy all your post.

Very powerful yet restrained use of greyscale by MrChris49. This picture evokes a very strong, visceral response. that's actually a scene from one my favorite manga called Super Radical Gag Family - by Hamaoka Kenji the characters expressions are amazingly funny in the manga as well as the manga it self. Lots of poop jokes in the series.

This is my drawing, geriroubos. I don't usually draw people, hence the super cartoon looking face. I think this is my first shades of grey picture I've drawn in over 10 years. I generally draw in the cartoon/animation style, but I'm making an effort to learn shading and texture.

I haven't done anything gray scale in years so bare with me. It's nothing compared to the rest of yours.

Here's an abstract drawing of mine. Sort of reminds me of scratch board drawings.
