MimiSACo: thank you so much! kercal: I've had that happen to me too... for me, I think it was because I tried to redo the image immediately while I was still annoyed of the crash. But in your case, it sounds like your initial sketch may have caught something spontaneous about the image. summerbryz: Ouch! IMHO if you come back to redo the same image with positive attitude, the second time around will always be 'better' and quicker because you're already familiar with the subject, composition, order and quirks.. How about today

Yesterday I spent a great deal of time on a drawing and finally hit the publish button. As I waited for it to upload I noticed something that needed changing. Then I got an error message that said "unable to upload. Try again?" Perfect, I thought! Thinking that the "no" or "cancel" button would take me back to the drawing mode, I clicked it. AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! NO! Disappeared! Gone forever! (also posted this reply in "have you ever posted a picture and then seen something you want to change")

Argh that's a huge bummer K3LLI. I think everyone should take a picture at least once before they upload...!

Being a fan of Fairy Tail, I wanted to do an second homage to the show. I did a Natsu, Lucy, & Grey and I put several hours into it... only to lose it in the upload. I had ambition to try again and I even felt I had improved it... only to lose it again. Where I could punch myself is that I forgot both times to screenshot. I only have theone screenshot of Lucy by herself on the right side from the earlier attempt. I foolishly draw right to left, always the hard way. Attachments:

Just spent about an hour and a half on my map. The electricity went out and I lost my Internet connection so I lost the work. Boo, Hiss. Will have to wait awhile before I can be in the correct state of mind to continue!

Interesting! Redrew and when I posted the new drawing the first try failed, was given the choice to retry( biting my nails at that point, I might add) and both drawings appeared. Nice to see them both show up. Also surprised to see the differences in scale and placement between the two.

I haven't lost a drawing yet, but feel for all of you who have had it happen. Ouch! In art school, we were constantly reminded not to get too precious about our artwork, whether it was a print, painting, or sculpture. But to be honest, it sucks to lose something after you've laboured over it for hours.
Having said that, the other helpful tip our instructors shared, was . . . it's about the process of creating and less so about the end product. It is what we discover in ourselves as we create that may lead us in a different direction than we first imagined. I'm still working on that! Hence, my profile comment about learning to draw like a kid again, 'cause kids have fewer hang-ups than adults. LOL

Drew a room filled with DQers and a Duff Beer. It was supposed to be a cheer-up photo for Echidna because his drawing crashed too.
Err, well my supposed cheer-up drawing crashed as well.
I was really annoyed, so I took a nap. (My brain doesn't work well when angry) Then I woke up before midnight and just tried again.

Why can't DQ let us decide which drawing will be deleted down to 50? I would like to delete some awful drawings instead of my better drawings getting deleted.

Why can't DQ let us decide which drawing will be deleted down to 50? I would like to delete some awful drawings instead of my better drawings getting deleted. I can't remember who asked the DQ staff but they said the drawings are not deleted. It's in their server, and if you saved all emails when someone stars your quest, you have a link there to retrieve your drawing. They also said they are working on an update to restore all previous drawings back to the gallery. I guess they went for max 50 so profiles would load. --- For tomb of lost images. Yesterday's quest. Victim of server time-out. Nothing to salvage or anything. When i reloaded the quest hoping it'll restore. None. But it's okay, good thing I took a screenie! :3 Attachments:

I just experienced my first lost image. After ~3 hrs. on my drawing, I couldn't post it as the server wasn't available. How vexing! Not sure I'll try again. At least I have a screenshot. Based on a painting by Lawren Harris, my favourite member of the Group of Seven.

Well, my drawing did get posted after all. When I went back to DQ, a message said I could retry loading and it worked! I'm so relieved. Now I can go to sleep!
