Until something better (and/or more official) comes along, I've created this space for Draw Quest peeps to meet, greet, get to know one another, and share tips. There are some great minds and amazing artists out there and I for one am looking forward to picking some DQ brain! Welcome one and all. K3LLI PS I'm a total newbie at forum hosting so be patient while I learn my way around!

Thanks for starting the forum K3LLI! Hello, my name is Dr Cupcake, and I'm a DQ addict. I have always loved to draw and create in different mediums. DQ is nice as it gives me an excuse to draw each day - plus no one I know will play DrawSomething with me anymore. I'm excited to see what tips and discussion unfold here.

Thanks for setting this up K3LLI. I love DQ as a tool for learning to draw on my iPad. The app has a nice feeling of community and this may take it a step further. I'm a big Dr. Cupcake fan so it was nice to see that she has jumped in.
Regards, riverrapp

Welcome Riverrapp! Glad you've joined us! Yes, I feel the same way---DQ is a great tool to learn to draw on ipad. I'm sort of re-learning to draw in general after a long, long break from it so finding a supportive community has been a wonderful experience!
Thanks for being here!

Thanks for creating this forum, K3LLI! This is a great idea. I love draw quest. It's reunited me with my love of drawing. I used to draw when I was a kid, but then I abandoned this passion.
I love the creativity and artistic diversity on DQ! I also love the humor.
Drawing on an ipad is hard (even with a stylus!), but rewarding! And I am learning a lot from the DQ community just through studying the use of color, line, shading, light and shadows, but it will be cool to share tips and ideas via this forum.
I also want to say I appreciate the culture of appreciation on Draw Quest!
I look forward to the conversation here!

Stylus?? I don't use a stylus. I would love to get one. I saw a couple of recommendations on the twitter feed today. I saw one on amazon that looks good (amPen ultra sensitive ). I think it is harder to draw on DQ then other drawing apps. I love using Sketchbookx by auto desk . It it awesome. I use the free version.
The undo is so slow sometimes if I've just started a drawing I will delete or just color over and re draw. I love working in detail but think if I had a stylus it would be easier to do that.
There are so many great artists of all levels professional and amateur I am enjoying seeing the work. And am amazed and a little jealous at what some can do with DQ!

Wow, Dr. C, you do all that amazing drawing without a stylus!? K3LLI, thanks for fixing my name!!! ;D Hi River, I haven't seen your artwork, yet! One thing I look forward to is when DQ makes it so we can view the whole gallery for a particular quest. The way it works now, I miss out seeing what everyone is drawing. Only so much artwork per quest is in the viewing cue at a time. jenpie

Thanks Kettlecorn! So happy you're here!! I loved your build an alien space ship drawing "gulliver's travels" style! Thanks! I admit, I had a lot of fun with that one! I suppose I could have taken time to fix errors like the floating nails but I just wanted to do a fast draw with no fuss. I'm really enjoying DQ . I haven't drawn much since I was about 12 and now find myself with some time to get back into it. My drawing is still at about the level I left off at, but I'm learning a lot from the other Questers. For example , Dr Cupcakes "sparkly eyes" on her portraits. Love it and try to use that when I can. I've Learned a bit about shadows and shading. Still trying to get that down. Picking up some Ipad drawing techniques or just experimenting and figuring some out. I have a ways to go but I'm having a blast. I haven't drawn anything for the last 2 days because I'm under the weather right now ,but I truly enjoy looking at every ones work ( all experience levels, and styles). I get a lot of inspiration. I also get a kick out of the humor.

Hi everyone! Thanks K3LLI for making this forum (and also the shoutout! I still need to get back to you on that ).. I can totally relate on picking up old hobby as I haven't doodled/drawn since I was little and DQ basically reignited me (and got me hooked) back overnight.. and I'm really happy to find such a supportive community and friendly banters all around I'm also amazed with the quality of posts on daily basis, whether it's the humor, wit, imagination and the artwork. You guys rock

This is great K3LLI. I can at last put 'voices' to the pictures. I agree with most of the comments made above. I particularly appreciate how you all are teaching me so much especially about the use of line and tone. A great way to loosen up.

Hello fellow DrawQuesters! This was an awesome idea K3LLI! I have been lurking around, waiting for others to join first ;D I am amazed that my followers can put up with my lame humor and unhealthy obsession with Star Wars.
