It seems that Sketchclub is one of the possible apps we could use for social drawing. My Id there is... Lamijavin.
I need to draw there ASAP as my avatar is stuck with the picture of Questbot's evil twin image.
What is your ID?

I am so saddened by this, I don't understand how this happens. Anyone have any idea why DrawQuest is going down. I have tried SC but agree that it is a quite a bit more difficult than DQ. I remember my first DQ submission, it was laughable. I will certainly miss seeing all my DQ friends' work. Hope something will be done to resolve whatever the problem is.

According to some bad business case, not enough money to pay for 7 designers (who have been already laid-off). Check Settdill on twitter, he has a lot of info.

This week end: ramping on the SketchClub, trying to teach the BASIC to my son. Will keep you posted on how easy that is. Also, some already users of SketchClub warns us on Twitter about the ferocity of the forum there... So I will continue to post here until I get a better sense of SC. Don't want to create a flame war day 1...

I signed up with Sketch Club, but haven't decided if I'm keeping my screen name. Kind of want something shorter! SC definitely looks more complex and is similar to Sketchbook, which I must admit I have not done much with. Will be using the SC tutorials for sure. Till then, I'll try to keep posting on DQ till the sad end. Hopefully we can keep this forum going in the transition phase to see if everyone stays on Sketch Club or not. It would be sad to lose our community. I'm not that hopeful that the financial problems at DQ will be resolved at this late stage since they've already let staff go.

any other alternative? SC seems too clumsy You mentioned Drawcast in the chat area. Didn't Canadian leave us to go draw there? Have you tried it? Is the community friendly? Someone said via Twitter that SC wasn't as supportive (sorry, I'm not on twitter).

It has many tools, options and features that can be considered an upgrade of DQ, but very friendly and with community feature that would be similar to DQ. check it out (is free) on its page here: DRAWCASTplease also other DQsters, tell me your opinion on it :-)

Don't know if I can take the visciousness over at Sketchclub

Don't know if I can take the visciousness over at Sketchclub I got on Twitter because of DQ. Using restricted mode, it is not so bad. (Ok, it took me months to realize some obvious functionality but still, all is ok! ) I am mostly a silent lurker except this week with the DQ shut down announcement... Woh, look at that, I am now a chatterbox on this forum...

Oh boy, really really not good for me... Very very frustrating. I know at this point that I prefer Sketchclub. It may seem overwhelming at first but I was able to do what I wanted fairly quickly compare to Drawcast. Oh, and yeah, I am Canadian and will not be using Drawcast ...

It is personal feeling, i felt the same hydro-repellency (at very first) with SC app. A part of the pay-for-draw option that is a no no for me, i browsed an entire day on his pages online, interacting with people while they draw (live stream) and reading comments (also read sarcastic, snobbing the exodus of exDQesters), and i felt out of place. I don,t need such amount of features ( i have all that apps* for pro artist already and i barely use them). What i liked about of DQ was the freshness and simplicity that allows you to produce huge arts with barely few resources, and that is my point: creativity brought out to life from nothing. I remember in my pre-digital era (i am old enough), that i was more inventive and used fantasy better than now that i have practically all tools to produce movies, music, cartoons and comix with new digital technology available; but lack of creativity stops me. DQ as a daily homework, pushed to use my brain again and was great for that. Maybe i will stop or maybe not, i just wanted to share my opinion with the community that became a second family for me. :-) PS i did not get the issue between Canadians...and DC *sketchBookPro, Procreate, Paper, MyBrushes, Drawing Box)

I fully agree with you Simao_g!
Nothing can replace DQ for me. I felt the same push as you every day. Sad now, but happy to have lived the DQ era!
Don't stop?

PS i did not get the issue between Canadians...and DC *sketchBookPro, Procreate, Paper, MyBrushes, Drawing Box) Sorry for the confusion re the Canadian reference. There was a DQ artist with that name, who was quite prolifilic and popular for a while before she left to draw on Draw Cast. Her icon was an anthropomorphized beaver. You should still be able to search for her profile in Explore. Back to the drawing apps. I haven't tried Draw Cast yet. I appreciate hearing both of your views on DC and SC.

That is exactly the kind of mentality that put DQ in this position. Expecting to have a free app makes it nearly impossible to sustain, in particular when you take into consideration that all that art has to be stored somewhere, and server hosting and maintenance does not come cheap. I don't know how many people complained about paying for the brushes and bucket and additional colors if they didn't have the coins. And as far as the comments, had you stayed long enough, you would have seen that for every @$$clown with something to say about DQ, there are 10 extremely nice and caring people willing to help. I get it, you don't like the tool, so you would rather focus on the negative, but I think that type of FUD makes it impossible for people to reach a level-headed decision.

Hello!!!!!! Well I think no draw app will replace DQ too!!! It's very sad that it'll close! SC, my opinion, the persons there seems to be very nice and friendly!! But to draw, gonna be honest, for me is too complicated!! Agree with Regcas, I'm only uploading my DQ's draws there!!! Is very difficult! And well do not have that family atmosphere like DQ!!! Like one artist from DQ told, SC is a little intimidator!!! we all gonna miss DQ very much!!!!
