Well, this is such an abrupt way for Drawquest to end. Not being on Twitter leaves me at a disadvantage so I'm posting this to say thanks to you all for helping make DQ the welcoming community it was. Although many of us will make the shift to Sketch Club, it will be sad to lose the young DQers who may not have the means to buy the app, nor the skills to navigate its more complex tools. My heart is heavy with the loss of my DQ family. It will seem strange not to check my activity box for the latest postings from Vipvip or Salmonnugget, or the many other talented artists I admired. I will look for you on Sketch Club - will still be iflowerbed2. Lastly, thanks to DQ for creating this wonderful app and community, for which I will always be grateful. It has reignited my desire to draw. Such a wonderful idea deserves surviving . . . Maybe down the road, there will be a new life for DQ. Thanks for all your efforts. I'll miss DQ so much!

You are so right Flowerbed I couldn't believe it when DQ refused to open this morning, it feels almost like a bereavement! I feel so sorry for all the kids who tried so hard, I will miss their funny little drawings and of course the work of so many talented artists, too many to mention, each with an individual style. Where to go from here, I will rethink my options but maybe Sketch Club is not the place for Her Majesty and His Holiness who sadly say goodbye to you.! I would love the board to stay open, but with so few of us using it and DQ now folded is it an option? So nice to have have met all of you and so sad it all ended this way

I am so sad. I tried to post my draw for the date quest after 12 am last night and it wouldn't go. It went thru my mind that this was it but I quickly dismissed it, choosing to stay in my state of draw denial! I will miss all of you so very much and I want to encourage anyone reading this to try Sketch Club. Yes, it's different but you do have interaction with artists which really is essential for growth. Even if you were doing traditional art, being around other artist keeps you growing and motivated. For this medium, I think Sketch Club is the best choice. It's not so bad and it would be even better to see all of you there! Please try, set a goal to try it every day for, let's say a month. I hope to see you all there, I am there as Stayze. Your DQ friend, Stacey PS here is my last draw that wouldn't post so I had to post it here!

I am very sad to see DQ go out this way. We all knew for months that it could be the end at any moment. I'm happy beyond words to say that I have made some awesome and truly amazing friendships thru this app that I never thought possible. I joined when the app first started as a way to stay busy and do my own thing but DQ provided such a great sense of community I could not help but become addicted. I'm thankful to K3lli who started this board and to Heap for keeping it alive and to all the artists I've met and enjoyed seeing draw everyday. Most important for us all who want to keep that community going I hope you will join twitter and /or sketchclub so we all can continue to see your creativity.
And last but not least...Thank you Drawquest team for giving me and so many others the spark draw again each day.
Drawquester for life !
On twitter as : DoctorCupcake On sketchclub as: Dr.Cupcake
Ciao for now,
Dr.C

Disappointed but not surprised. It was a good run and I'm glad I got to share it with you all!
Off to Sketch Club now for my daily fix of drawing and warped attempts at humor. Hope to see you all there.

WOW! Today was one of those days where I kept having to review some of my paper work to confirm I was getting my work done. It was annoying but I knew I had my DrawQuest drawing to finish from the day before and relaxation would soon start. I had locked my picture on my IPAD so I saw noting unusual until I finished it and tried to post it. The one thing that put silence into a busy life has left and the community feeling from around the world is over. So My Dear Friends, I Must Thank You All For Bring Me Daily Happiness as I viewed your post and for the Challenge Of My Drawing Skills. I will review the other drawing sites you have all recommended. As for twitter and other internet apps to stay in contact, I will just have to review my option before making any move. SEMPER FI

Thank you everyone for posting their last drawings that didn't make it to DQ on time, especially Conejosheepdog and Stayze I will miss the " Stayze and me " drawings as will hundreds of other people. I will also miss your astute political asides!
I can see you are in the same frame of mind as myself Conjosheepdog regarding SC and Twitter, the jury's still out on that one, I'm tempted up to a point if I do join it will be under my old DQ name. Like you I will give it some thought for that empty slot each evening. So many people will miss so much each evening, but we have to go forward, that's life!

Even though I wasn't actively drawing, I still got on to see what people were drawing in the time I had to do it. We thought we had a year but at least there are other apps we can use for our artistic medium. I will keep this board open. I only had one condition to keep it open and it wasn't that DQ would have to be open. It was that I would close it if it went a month (30 day)period without a single post. So as long as we keep using the board, it will stay open.

For those of us who aren't on Sketch Club or members of Twitter the board is an ideal way of communicating, I do hope it will be used I noticed today 64 guests had looked at the board, if any guests are reading this why don't you register! This used to be as very lively board with great discussions, not random little disjointed snippets like Twitter, let's try and resurrect it to what it used to be and keep in touch!

Deedee, please consider joining Sketch Club. It is so much easier it draw - no waiting for brushstrokes or erasures. There are many tutorials and everyone's been very friendly and welcoming to us DQ refugees. I have only made one drawing, and uploaded some of my DQ drawings, thanks to Artkat's tutorial. You can go online before buying the app to see our profiles or just browse the galleries. Perhaps you have already done so. I am surprised how much I like the comments feature - instantaneous feedback! SC does look overwhelming at first, and the talent pool is bigger, but there is plenty of room for all types of artists.
It's been fun to rediscover old friends like raymondsagbagg - now called King Raymondo, or Lamijavin. Beewitch did a drawing asking all DQ refugees to 'sign in' in her comments section so we can find one another. SC has a wonderful brush palette. You can do co-op drawings, which are like the custom quests. I'm still learning and a bit confused, but in a good way! I hope you'll join us.

Flowerbed do you remember several months ago you told me that DeeDee meant big sister? I think I told you that I would be happy to be your big sister.
Well sometimes big sisters take a long time to make up their minds! I did download Sketch Club and I have looked at several drawings, I haven't posted anything myself, but I might! The format is complicated, it might be possible to modify it and use far less tools. I looked at Beewitchs post and was amazed at the huge number of people who have gone over to Sketch Club, it was quite nostalgic seeing all their names, so yes I am considering it And thank you for your kind post urging me to try it. I noticed Conjosheepdog has made the leap, I wonder if he'll continue the lovely Stayze drawings! This time of night I miss DQ, it was my time for looking at all the drawings which I loved, still suffering withdrawal I'm afraid but watch this space.. . .

For those on Sketch Club or thinking about joining. Make sure you check out user Questbot. He draws a daily quest in the style of DQ for those of us going through withdrawal.
We can thank Dommers, SuperdudeDTO and BillyHill for keeping the dream alive.
