Re: screen protector Definitely use the water+soap solution as it lets you see bubbles if they form and you can slide the protector to make that perfect fit. Spray them on the tip of the fingers too before handling the sticky side of the screen protector, because the oils from our fingers will stay for the rest of the screen protector's life. Btw, I was googling about stylus + screen protector smoothness and found out about the GoSmart stylus (http://justgosmart.squarespace.com/stylus/). Anyone have any experience with these? The design is like jot but with Teflon wireframe tip instead of plastic discs. Sounds like there's less friction and even less visual blocking than jots. I love love love the Go Smart. I bought the Jot Pro and Go Smart to compare and the Go Smart has a lot more control and precision and none of the problems so far as the Jot. Thanks sooo much for mentioning this stylus otherwise I wouldn't have known about it initially. My research said it was better than the Jot and my experience with it says it is! Sending the Jot back to amazon. No problem. Hope this helps. Let me know.

Hellooo fellow quester's! ? I am so amazed by all the amazing artwork on draw quest. I have read all the chat about stylus'. I would like to know what others use to create such tiny details!! Also, has anyone tried to playback a drawing and 'told' its unable?! THANKS!!!

That happens a lot when there is a lot of data behind the playback and the playback option on the piece was disabled, it typically happens when someone's drawing is extremely layered and detailed.

Here is my stylus experienced.
It all started with the Bamboo. This one was ranked nicely and the seller at the store commented that there was no risk of scratching my screen. This was good enough for me as I was not even sure I was going to like this stylus-thing... (Drawing on an iPad, you must be kidding!?) So yes, I started liking the stylus a lot... and DQ! . It took me 3 months before I had to replace the tip of the Bamboo. I liked the bamboo ability to support angling BUT as I made progress in drawings, I realized that I would not be able to do precise details with the Bamboo since I could not see where I was drawing. And the Bamboo does works better with no screen protector.
So I went for the Jot. Nice and precise! But high maintenance. It took me 2 weeks before I ended up in a store looking for thermo-conductor paste/flux. I almost broke my Jot putting the paste in (I.am like an elephant in a flower field when it comes to small and precise things ). So the Jot was not for me.
Then, the GoSmart came into my life! OMG!!! It supports angle, I see what I draw and no maintenance. It is like drawing with a feather! Smooth. Relaxing for the wrist. Well built and designed. I am in heaven.. So for me, the GoSmart is perfect!!! Love love love it!
Thank for mentioning it in the forum, that is how I decided to try it.

I have been having stylus issues of late, it is reallly draggy on my new screen protector. Making me think about taking the protector off, but I think I may gry to find the GoSmart stylus. I live in a small community, if I went in a store to ask for a stylus, they would look at me with a blank stare. Looking forward to trying something new.

In case this is useful, I did order my goSmart from amazon.ca. They were able to ship it to me using USPS in one week, hence no custom fees crossing the US/Canada border.

Here's an update on my experience with GoSmart: after several weeks of infatuation, I dropped it, and the tip broke off. It had been less than 30 days, but it also wasn't dropped any great distance so... I contacted GoSmart and they responded within a couple hours, and shipped me a new stylus out which I had within days. They were awesome! Especially since the tips are replaceable, so they could have just sent a new tip. In between I went back to using a rubber-tipped stylus (a Targus, I believe) and within days I noticed it was disintegrating and leaving black streaks on my screen. I love, love, love my GoSmart

So I have started trying convince my local stores to get their product in store here... I want them to succeed with this product!

I may need to try this go smart. I don't think I can justify buying a new one at this time though. I have like 12 stylus sitting around.

It would be SO nice to be able to walk into Best Buy (or Future Shop) and get one. But you're right, their customer service is amazing. Whilst exchanging emails with Steve at GoSmart, I sent a copy of the drawing I did of my stylus ( ) (https://drawquest.com/p/2lh6y8). I said, "I thought you might enjoy this...unless it's copywriter infringement of some sort, in which case, I'll delete it!" And he replied: "We love it, leave it up.... We are in the middle of rebranding our Website and Product and we are going to have a section to show off drawings from consumers of GOSmart Stylus." Thought I would pass this on in case anyone is interested in submitting drawings to them.

I got my GoSmRt in August and found it with a broken off stylus on the floor yesterday. I contacted then because I couldn't get the replacement tip to fit in and the also are sending me a new one on Tuesday. I used my finger and tried my old rubber tip one as well as a jot pro( hate it) and I'm lost without the Gosmart. I'm not even going to try and dry again till it comes next week I hope. I'll just enjoy all of you and take a break cuz I really suck without it. Funny I saw this post from you today. Happy go smart drawing to you. I'm jealous! . Regcas

I also emailed back and forth with Steve and had a similar great experience. We must cheer these guys on!! Love them too. I've been gabbing about this stylus on this site so much now. We should probably work for them:)

Thanks for all of these suggestions. For those of you who use (or are disillusioned with) Wacom Bamboo styli, may I suggest replacing the nib that's torn with one of their firm nibs, which you can buy from their website (and probably elsewhere). I have been using the same firm nib for a couple of months now. It's far more bouncy and dense. It sounds a bit squeaky at first, but it quickly breaks-in and doesn't shred if you happen to press hard. I do want to try the Jot Pro and GoSmart, after reading your posts!

I read that you can put a go smart stylus tip on the jot pro if you want to. I also tried the silver thermal stuff on the jot pro and it works better. But I'm looking forward to getting my replacement Go Smart in the mail.
