There seems to be some quests outside the quest of the day coming out. Example, "Those are not the droids you are looking for", "Complete the eye" etc. This is not sub-quest, but real titled quests with the usual header at the top. I do not get those except when I see it in a drawing of someone I follow. I cannot figure where those are created. When I go to the Draw menu, there is a bot picture with over 3000 followers but nothing else. Any hints for me? Example of side quest:

I have no idea, they look like genuine quests, but are not from DQ. I've seen at least 5 different ones. Apart from a couple of spoof ones a few weeks ago, this has only started since the new update. I tend to ignore them, it's hard enough trying to keep up with all the posts, stars and followers these days without anything extra.

I believe they are a new feature with DrawQuest 3.0. Apparently there is a feature that allows you to create a quest for your followers. As those people complete the quests, they end up in their galleries and possibly even the explore page, where other people can pick them up. I still haven't updated myself, though, so cannot be quite sure about how they work or how to create them.

Hummm So I am on DQ v3 and ipad2, so it might mean that this is a new feature only available to iPod/iPhone or iPad retina.. Anyways, I agree with DeeDee, there is already way too much feeds and I just cannot follow anymore. 637 stars on one drawing, over 200 new followers in one day, for me !?!? I cannot imagine the mess and pain for the Great Ancient Ones I hope this gets split into 2 feeds, as Uneyia is suggesting. I like that idea.

Okay, in that case they probably didn't have the time to implement it on the iPad yet. Same with the split feeds. They should be coming in time. As for the stars and follows, my astro sloth remake shot well above 1100 stars, and I have gained over two thousand (!) followers since the release of the new version. My activity feed groans in pain under the load, and I have completely given up on the idea of checking out the new followers' profiles. I have to check everyone I follow manually to see if they have new drawings.

More info on the strange quests.
I sent a note to DQ about them and their reply was as follows;
Anyone with a iPhone or iPod can now post their own quest, so if one of your followers sees this new quest and responds by drawing it, that quest will ultimately appear in your activity feed. Regardless of who originally created it Get this, DQ said they hope to roll it out the same facility to iPad very soon! I really hope not and have said so. I totally agree Slothdude and Lamijavin, the whole thing has become quite unmanageable. Stars and followers have lost all credence and every day the whole thing just becomes a mammoth task to try and keep on top of it, not what DQ is all about.
Ultimately the people who have been with DQ from the beginning and draw most days will begin to lose patience, which would be a great pity. The app as it was, gave me great pleasure and I learned a great deal from so many people, but my time is limited like most peoples and one wonders if it will be possible to continue if this new facility is rolled out to iPad resulting in even longer time spent sorting the activity feed.

I have to check everyone I follow manually to see if they have new drawings. The new quests are coming from the iPod iPhone people. I downloaded the updated app on my iPhone and there is a feature that allows anyone to suggest a new quest at anytime. This feature will come to the Ipad with a new update in the future. It was kinda exciting to get five hundred stars for one drawing at first but now it all seems a bit much and not so special to receive a star or a follower as it used too. I agree with those of you above who feel this had gotten way outa control and not as special as it used to be. That was my original feeling with the update when it first happened and I went blabbing about my disappointment all over the place! As Wilso suggested maybe this wil all calm down but who knows. See, I'm not the only one that is a bit upset with change.

I am basically happy with the new update per se. Love the new zoom, colour fill in, etc. a big improvement, and I didn't feel disappointed in any way with the new features.
I am however, very unhappy about the amount of time it now takes to wade through all the new stuff in the activity feed. Grows hourly with many new quests, stars and followers which I have to say I ignore, purely from a time factor and on the basis that all this new starring and following is of little merit. The whole thing has become completely unmanageable. Like Slothdude I have now stopped looking at new profiles and concentrate on trying to find the drawings of people I follow., This is becoming more and more difficult and I apologise if I've missed some of your recent drawings, you know why!
There is a life after all outside of DQ
