Thank you Dr. Cupcake. That is really good advice. I've been taking screen shots of everything since my Draw Something days, but I send them to my phone and delete them from my iPad (not sure why, it's not like I'm hurting for room). I was just sad that they weren't on my profile page anymore. That's weird, someone just starred one of my older drawings and now it is showing up in my profile as I was typing this. Are they only hidden from us until someone stars them? I have this same problem. I emailed the DQ team and got this response, "note that only your most 50 recent drawings display — we're adding a way to see all of them soon, they're not deleted!" It's weird because I used to be able to see way more than 50 drawings.

@alzheimer: If I'm not mistaken DQ currently just lists the last 50 drawings when you pull someone's profile, including your own. Anything beyond the 50 are still stored in their servers and not deleted, but there's no way to get to them through DQ's app (yet).
Another thing that I notice about the DQ client/app: It keeps a local copy (caches) of images that you create and also of new images by people you follow, even past the 50-images limit, until you sign off. When you sign off, these images in your cache are purged and they would seem 'deleted' off your client.
On the flip side, those cache can grow big quite fast and make the app reaaaaaallly sluggish; especially when opening a profile page. So imho, you gotta clear the cache every once in awhile anyway to keep the app usable...

Alzheime129, I can see drawings that date back to 2/10. It looks like there are 45 drawings.

Thanks and nice work elginkiwijonop123, I just noticed that you starred some of my earlier drawings, now those drawings are showing up in my profile. Why can you see them and I can't? And why do I have more than 50 drawings now? Is that 45 drawings before March 18?

There are 46 drawings showing and the date back to mid February (2/10). I think one of my kids downloaded this app mid March while on vacation when I look at my page I see about 75 drawings.... Should there be more than 45 drawings on your profile? Hope that helps.

Thanks again elginkiwijonop123, when I checked earlier today, I had over 80 drawings in my profile, then I logged off and logged back in, and only the last 50 showed up. Now, I can only see the last 50, plus the 12 that you starred. I'm so confused.

I noticed today that you can brush quite a large area of a drawing with a medium tone transparent color if you don't touch the edges of your screen while brushing. If you touch the edges you'll start a new brush stroke and you get a layered effect.
You can also make the edges of your blacks sharper, or lines straighter by using a marker and a fast eraser swipe along the lines.

Flagging as inappropriate seems a little risky? With YouTube if you are flagged for piracy three times your membership is suspended I think. I hope there's not anything similar in DQ. (I'm sure there isn't but even so it's something I'd be wary about doing...)

Thanks Hochsten. I've been so frustrated by the brush. I find your tip quite helpful. Thanks also to whoever created this board. I wanted to have a place to read and talk about drawquest. None of my friends think they can draw or don't have Ipads.

Brand new to meet up boards! I have many questions, yea, maybe I am a little computer illiterate, I do not know how to take a screenshot of my work. I don't know how to use one of my Draw Quest drawings as a profile pic. Is there such a thing as a fine point Stylus? ??.....there that is a stare feedback deeply appreciated.

Hi Nancy, To take a screen shot of your drawings press the power button and the home button at the same time. Then you can go to your DQ profile settings and add your drawing from your camera roll. There may be more of an in depth explanation if you look under Quests, sub quest > profile pictures (started by Kettlecorn) As for the stylus question. I don't use one. But there is plenty of discussion on the stylus, stylus stylus thread. Fine point may be just a matter of knowing where your point will land.

Is there such a thing as a fine point Stylus? ??.. Hi Nancym, like DrCupcake said, there is a lot of great information on the stylus, stylus, stylus, thread. I recently purchased a jot pro stylus which has a fine point connected to a see-through disc so that you can see exactly where the stylus lands. There is information about the jot pro as well as some other stylus choices. All great information so read through when you get a chance. By the way, we were all amazed when we learned that DrCupcake doesn't use a stylus--such great detail in her work!

I had a situation on Sunday where I could not upload my piece and then discovered I couldn't do anything....I couldn't follow or star anyone ....nothing was working. I emailed DQ and they told me to Sign Out and Sign In.....I didn't lose my drawing or anything else..... but I think Signing out and in is a good idea.

Echidnaq mentioned this before, but I just want to reiterate the point he made earlier, due to an issue I was having. A DQ staffer did an awesome job explaining things to me so that I could understand them. I recently had an issue where I couldn't upload a drawing and it kept crashing. I'll try to explain things here with the least amount of technical mumbo jumbo. When we draw, each finger/stylus stroke counts as data (for lack of a better term). The more you draw, the bigger the file gets, even when you are "erasing" a mistake. When I say erasing, I mean using the same color of the background to fix a mistake, I very rarely use the eraser tool because of the lag that it causes. When I do use the eraser or undo, the next stroke will lag or be jumpy, I will make a mark in an unused area, then use the white pen or marker to cover up that mark, so that my intended stroke will work where I want it to. Now, getting back to the data thing, the more finger/stylus strikes, the bigger the file. If you spend 4 hours on one drawing, chances are, the file might be too big to upload, especially if you draw like me. I have a tendency to keep drawing over and over one specific area, then drawing over that with the white until I get the desired shape or image I'm trying to achieve. I draw in an iPad mini, and they were surprised that I was having this issue because it is more common in older iPads. They told me to force close all other apps, if that doesn't work, force close DQ, if that doesn't work, reboot your iPad (at this point, it is possible you might lose your drawing), if that doesn't work, log out and back in to DQ ( you will definitely lose your drawing here) and last, but not least, delete the app then reinstall it. I got lucky, and it uploaded before I lost my drawing. Just keep trying. If you are stuck in the vicious cycle of upload, crash, upload, crash... you can get back to DQ by, while in the drawing, checking your activity feed and selecting any drawing in the feed and you will get a message that reads something like "Are you sure you want to leave? You will lose all your progress" with yes and no button selections. You will lose your drawing, but you won't have to log out/log in. Activity feed tip. This is something I've been experimenting with for quite a while. Start a quest, draw a line so that the drawing is active, select the icon in the upper left corner, and it shows the activity feed, go back to the drawing by selecting an area on the right side of the screen. As long as the drawing is open, you should be able to keep the feed updating while you are away from your iPad. I usually do this after I finish a drawing so I don't miss any new updates. I am still experimenting on this, so hopefully, it will always work. ALWAYS force close all apps and reboot your iPad before taking on any large drawings. I'm going to make it a habit before any quest. I hope this helps anyone having these issues, and please, if anyone else is trying the activity feed experiment, please post your findings.

I just read Alzheimer's drawing tips and want to say thanks for explaining so well about the strokes and data etc. I got a lot out of it.
